Privacy Policy
SorathERP is desktop, web and mobile business management software published by Sorath Software Technologies ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information we collect from you and your business when you use the desktop app, web app and mobile app (together, the "Software"), and how we handle it.
1. Information we collect
Business data you enter. Ledgers, invoices, GSTINs, stock items, employee and payroll records, and any other business data you record in the Software. This data belongs to you.
Account and licence data. Company name, contact details, licence key, tenant ID and hardware ID used to activate and identify your installation.
Sync and usage data. If you use the Complete plan, records you create on the desktop app are synced to our cloud database so your web and mobile apps stay current. We also collect basic usage data (app version, sync timestamps, error logs) to keep the Software running reliably.
Payment information. Billing details for your licence and AMC, processed through our payment partners — we do not store full card numbers.
2. How we use this information
To operate the Software, keep your desktop, web and mobile apps in sync, provide support, process licence renewals, and generate the GST filings, E-Invoices and E-Way Bills you request. We do not use your business data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
3. Where your data is stored
On the Desktop plan, your data stays entirely on your local computer's database — nothing is sent to us. On the Complete plan, your data also syncs to our cloud database, hosted on E2E Networks in India, so it's available on the web and mobile apps. Each business's data is logically isolated by a unique tenant ID and is never visible to other customers.
4. Sharing with third parties
We share the minimum data necessary with the GST Network (GSTN), the E-Invoice (IRP) and E-Way Bill portals when you generate a return, IRN or E-Way Bill through the Software — this is required to complete those filings on your behalf, at your instruction. We use E2E Networks as our cloud hosting provider and reputable payment gateways for billing. We do not share your business data with any other third party without your consent, except where required by law.
5. Data security
Data in transit between the desktop app and our cloud is encrypted. Access to the cloud database requires an authenticated, licensed installation. We recommend you keep your own device password-protected and your licence credentials confidential, since the desktop app stores your business data locally.
6. Data retention
Your business data remains in our cloud database for as long as your subscription is active, and for a reasonable period after cancellation in case you wish to reactivate or export it. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us. Data on your local desktop database remains under your own control at all times.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and may withdraw consent for cloud sync at any time by moving to the Desktop plan. To exercise these rights, contact our Grievance Officer below.
8. Children's privacy
The Software is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the Software or by email before they take effect.
